Castanea Font Family was designed by David Kerkhoff and published by Hanoded. Castanea contains 2 styles and family package options. The chestnut (“castanea”) is one of my favorite trees. I used to collect the chestnuts and made chestnut-figurines out of them, using bamboo sate skewers. Castanea font is a calligraphic typeface with an uneven baseline and some messy characters – not unlike the tree. It is a highly legible, highly enjoyable font and could be used for children’s books and postcards. Castanea comes with various alternate glyphs and speaks most Roman-based languages!
