Coorg Classic Kannada Font Family was designed by Ramakrishna Saiteja and published by Indian Type Foundry. Coorg Classic Kannada contains 6 styles and family package options. Coorg Classic is an all-around typeface for the Kannada script. Traditionally, printed Kannada letterforms feature a distinctive amount of stroke contrast, and Coorg Classic is no exception. If you are looking for a Kannada typeface that pairs more directly with sans-serif typefaces for other scripts, check out the Indian Type Foundry’s Coorg family. You could even say that Coorg and Coorg Classics are siblings, but we’ll leave it to you to guess which one is older. We created the Coorg Classic typeface for Corporate Design and Editorial Design use. The letterforms in the fonts feature large counters, and many of their loops are open. Thanks to that, Coorg Classic gives texts a clear appearance. The typeface is easy to work with, and its results are inviting to read. The fonts are Kannada-script only, but their stroke contrast allows them to easily be paired with serif-style fonts designed for other scripts. Coorg Classic ships in two formats: install it as a single Variable Font or use the family’s five static OpenType font files. The static fonts range in weight from Light to Bold. While the static-format fonts offer a good intermediary-step selection, users who install the Variable Font have vastly greater control over their text’s stroke width. The Coorg Classic Variable Font’s weight axis allows users to differentiate between almost 1,000 possible font weights. That enables you to fine-tune your text’s exact appearance on-screen or in print. As for the typeface’s name, Coorg is a hill station in Karnataka surrounded by beautiful natural scenery. Its official name today is Kodagu. Coorg Classic was designed in-house at ITF by Ramakrishna Saiteja.
