Director Gujarati bears some similarities with our Akhand multi-script superfamily. However, Directors letterforms include more stroke contrast, squarer proportions, and a structure that appears more visually simple. The typeface can be used in two different ways. Either install the single Variable Font or its six static OpenType files. Those static files range in weight from Light to Heavy. While the static-format fonts offer a good intermediary-step selection, users who install the Variable Font have vastly greater control over their texts stroke width. The Director Gujarati Variable Fonts weight axis allows users to differentiate between almost 1,000 possible font weights. That enables you to fine-tune your texts exact appearance on-screen or in print. When weight increases along a typefaces axis, its vertical strokes get thicker. However, the typefaces horizontal strokes retain the same thickness across. When mixing Director Gujarati with other typefaces, questions such as serif or sans serif are less relevant than the amount of stroke contrast present in the additional selection or whether its strokes endings terminate similarly.
