Kartina Font Family was designed by Werner Eschmann and published by Fontroll. Kartina contains 15 styles and family package options. Kartina has no curves – guaranteed. Only straight lines. Musk’s Cybertruck could have been an inspiration for Kartina – but is wasn’t. We merely thought what if brutalist buildings were fonts. How would they look like? Maybe like Kartina? But as simple fonts are not our goal we packed some surprises into Kartina: We made it Variable in three axis: Weight, Kontrast and Slant which gives you a huge variability. OK, not all variations make sense, but perhaps you’ll enjoy them anyway. For those of you unable to use Variable Fonts we added 14 main variants. We put all we could into one font, developed two Kontrast sets, three main weights and added more than 550 glyphs, including most European and Cyrillic languages and some unusual stuff like fractions, arrows, alternate letters and figures or pointing fingers. Enjoy!
