Kibitz Variable Font Family was designed by Colophon Foundry and published by Colophon Foundry. Kibitz Variable contains 1 styles and family package options. Named after the act of providing unwelcome advice at a card game, Kibitz is a high-contrast display serif that features exaggerated angular details combined with subtle chamfers resulting in a sophisticated design. Moments of asymmetry add a flavour of playfulness whilst the use of inktraps adds a modern and mechanical feeling.Taking inspiration from vintage playing cards, especially the face cards — King, Queen and Jack — and the variety of accompanying serif typefaces used, Kibitz aims to bring quirk and unexpected qualities through a contemporary lens.There are several unique characters within the family, with the most expressive and characteristic being the K and k — with chiseled cuts and unexpected forms. And of course the expressive angular serifs, which run throughout the design in macro and micro formats.Kibitz includes a range of stylistic sets to choose from. Similar to four suits in a deck of cards, there are four styles of punctuation, changing the tone of voice for any application. The user can also select from two different styles of O and o. The first being a traditional, rounded form with the second incorporating a unique sharp interior counter.
