Lightning Deco JNL Font Family was designed by Jeff Levine and published by Jeff Levine. Lightning Deco JNL contains 2 styles and family package options. What started out as a type design based on the marquee sign from the State Theater in Altoona, PA [which was showcased in the Sept. 17, 1938 issue of Motion Picture Herald] ran into a problem.By itself, the characters looked like too many similar solid (counterless) Art Deco sans designs. Not wanting to waste a perfectly useful idea, lightning bolts were cut into the letters and it was transformed into a novelty display font.Lightning Deco JNL is available in both regular and oblique versions.
