Marudhar Gujarati Variable Font Family was designed by Gunjan Panchal and published by Indian Type Foundry. Marudhar Gujarati Variable contains 1 styles and family package options. Marudhar Gujarati is a compact typeface designed for Gujarati and Latin-script display typography. The designs characters are very narrow. In typographic terminology, they are extra-condensed or compressed. As a product, Marudhar Gujarati ships in two different formats. Users may install Marudhar Gujarati as a single Variable Font or as five static OpenType font files. The static files range in weight from Light to Bold. The Bold weight, in particular, is nice and chunky, functioning well as a stand-alone design. While the static-format fonts offer a good number of intermediary steps, users who install the Variable Font instead will have vastly greater control over their texts stroke width. That format allows for almost 1,000 subtly differentiated font-weight possibilities, permitting you to fine-tune the appearance your text will have on-screen or in print. Stroke contrast plays a strong role in Marudhar Gujaratis design concept. Even at the lightest end of its weight axis, vertical stroke contrast is prominent in all the typefaces characters. Naturally, that contrast is most striking at the other end of the spectrum, when the letters get Bold. By the term vertical contrast, we mean that the tops and bottoms of each letter have been drawn with thin strokes, while the letters vertical strokes are all thicker. The fonts Latin-script letters have a tall x-height, combined with very short ascenders and descenders. For the Gujarati script, base characters take up most of the available cartesian space; they are paired with short vowel marks. Marudhar Gujarati was designed in-house at ITF by Gunjan Panchal.
