Stella Astir Font Family was designed by Panos Haratzopoulos, Yannis Karlopoulos and published by Fonts.GR. Stella Astir contains 1 styles and family package options. Stella Astir is a typeface inspired by the models of greek calligraphy & lettering that were widely used on sign-making and advertising after the war and throughout the fifties, sixties and early seventies. It has a significant slant and a quite high thick-thin contrast in a fine resemblance of that old-style expressive craftsmanship.Stella Astir is part of Stella Project – Calligraphy à la greka, an attempt to study the forgotten art of greek calligraphy that flourished from the ’50s through the ’70s – an indirect conversation with the colleagues of the past. It’s a study on the tools and techniques of the time, a work of classification, documentation and adaptation of these special styles to modern media and communication tools.
