Volte Thai Variable Font Family was designed by Michelle Parmar and published by Indian Type Foundry. Volte Thai Variable contains 2 styles and family package options. Although Thai letters dont feature serifs, Volte Thais monolinear appearance calls geometric sans serifs made for the Latin script to mind. It feels at home wherever they do. The style resonates with many architects, artists, engineers, fashion designers, graphic designers, and musicians in a way almost no other kind of letter can. Volte Thai is available in two formats. For instance, you can always use the familys ten static OpenType font files. Those include five weights ranging from Light to Bold. Each weight has a companion Italic font. In terms of style, the Italics take the style of optically-balanced obliques. As an alternative to the traditional static fonts, users can install the familys two Variable Fonts instead. Thats one Variable Font for the upright styles and another for the italics. Each Variable Font is equipped with a weight axis. While the static-format fonts offer a good intermediary-step selection, users who install the Variable Font have vastly greater control over their texts stroke width. The Volte Thai Variable Fonts weight axis allows users to differentiate between almost 1,000 possible font weights. That enables you to fine-tune your texts exact appearance on-screen or in print. The Indian Type Foundrys Volte multi-script superfamily supports a dizzying array of writing systems. Weve designed variants of the typeface to support 11 different writing systems used in India. Those are Arabic, Bangla, Devanagari, Gujarati, Gurmukhi, Kannada, Latin, Malayalam, Odia, Tamil, and Telugu. Weve also created a subfamily for another Indic script besides Thai: Volte Sinhala for the Sinhala script used in Sri Lanka. Volte Arabic supports several languages written with the Arabic script, too. Volte Latin supports most European languages. By creating an interoperating series of so many parts, we strive to improve the workflows of digital designers and designers in Corporate Design around the world. Volte Thai was designed in-house at ITF by Michelle Parmar.
