Selva Variable Font Family was designed by Fanny Hamelin and published by Colophon Foundry. Selva Variable contains 2 styles and family package options. Selva juxtaposes delicate detailing with angular moments within a singular Scotch typeface that comprises Roman (with corresponding Italic) and Script cuts.Selva Script brings classical calligraphic detailing through connections, letter structures and rhythm, whereas the Italic variant is a dynamic version of traditional Scotch typefaces.These two variants of the typeface make great companions to the Roman family, whose structure is slightly condensed to follow its slanted styles. The calligraphic influence, notably apparent in the pinched curves and the tall capitals, ascenders and descenders, is counterbalanced by a modern aesthetic with its sharp breaks, its drops cut at right angles and its systematic look.
